The
church was opened on June 2nd 1987 by Gwendoline Swain and Sonia Powell
and help from local Medium Olive stenson who took services for nearly six
months until we could find people who could fit our church into their
diary. We now book over a year in advance and hold services weekly, also
booking special events to help raise more funds including Psychic suppers,
Christmas parties, and demonstrations of mediumship, clairvoyance if you
are unsure what to expect or would like to know what these terms mean,
please see our page on mediumship.
We have been open for nearly twenty years now and started off at the Age
Concern Hall on Styring Street in Beeston at the back of the bus
station. Where we stayed for sixteen years until recently, we have now
had to move due to redevelopment of Beeston town centre and now hold
our service at the Memorial Hall on the High Road at Chilwell (Opposite
collage House School)
We
became very popular over the years there, and our numbers in the
congregation kept increasing over the last two years they have never been under 25 people
and we have even had as many as 64 on one night
Over
the years Committees have come and gone, some come back like I did when
they move back into the area and others still visit when in Nottingham
visiting with family. These days I am not actively involved in the
church but still update and keep the website going for them as I enjoy
making the graphics and doing the Html.
Gwendoline who started the Church was ordained as a minister
and as gone on to do other things, she now lives in Norfolk and runs a bed
and breakfast and caters for spiritualist groups and holds psychic
weekends.

the many people who have Emailed asking for contact details for
mediums, We at Beeston Spiritualist Church respect the privacy of
our mediums and will not pass on information details to any one no matter
what the reason. but if the reason is considered urgent enough we will try
our best to pass your details over to the medium instead. It is then up to
them if they wish to contact you. But as I said the reason as to be
important NOT for readings.
